I miss some features of TBE in TBPE. Like being able to rearrange tabs arbitrarily. Like having a close-tab icon in each tab. Maybe I'll give TabMix a spin, despite it being buggy.

Thank you so much, Howell! I'm going to dump TBE right now, and switch to TBPE. I really appreciate the feedback.

Thanks to you as well for the clarification, CityK.

That's what makes this a great place (hope you're beaming, Doug!)

At risk of sounding too sappy...it's not me that should be beaming, it's all you guys who make it happen.

I have:
Tabbrowser Preferences 1.1.1, by Bradley Chapman, released on December 07, 2004.

https://addons.update.mozilla.org/e...ication=firefox&version=1.0&os=Windows&id=158

I am running Firefox 1.0.1.

And what I think sechs is running is the more updated version of what I have and can be found on the authors webpage.

Correct.

So have we determined that the problem is outdated and incompatible extensions?

If it helps any I do not have TB installed. However, when I click on the "see it larger" link I get a new window that is too small but resizes to fit the picture once the picture downloads.

I just removed all previous versions of FireFox and Mozilla from my system, including the deletion of any folders and files (except I exported my bookmarks), installed 1.0.1 and I still don't have the resize problem.

It has to do with the open links in option and javascript attempting to resize the new window. It resizes everything not just the new tab...You might try changing that option to something other than a new tab.
Howell, Buck, normally FF opens some links in a pop-up window. If you have TabBrowser Extensions installed, you can set an option to have the pop-up be displayed in a new tab instead. This option basically says you want only one window of FF open at all times. It seems to be this feature that resizes the entire window.

Yeah, that's why tabmix is exists. You can get back the above feature alone with miniT.
There are too many things I miss from TBE, Howell. If Tabmix doesn't do it, I'm going back to TBE. :(

That may be so, but you're the one that lets the others make it happen. The site's always up and works flawlessly, so it's easy to take your hard work for granted. Every now and then it's a good idea to bang a hammer on my head and remember to be appreciative of the good that others like yourself are doing for us all.

I don't know about outdated and incompatible. TBE has always had this bug, but it has a lot of very nice features. TBPE just ain't cutting it for me.

I dumped TBPE and am on Tabmix now. For the most part, it seems to work like TBE. Interesting behaviour with the pop-ups. I tried the JC Penney link (in my post near the top). If I left-click on the "See it larger" link, I get a window resize. But if I middle-click (to open in a new tab) or shift-middle-click (to open in a new active tab) the window does not resize. I mostly open links in new tabs anyway, so I can probably live with this. Haven't found any probs with Tabmix so far.

Gee, I thought Tabmix was a replacement for a whole bunch of tab-related extensions. Including TBPE. The Tabmix homepage says so, and so does the TBPE author's homepage. Since Tabmix certainly seems to do everything TBPE did (for me, anyway), I don't see the value of installing both. Of course, maybe there are features I don't know about and have never used in TBPE.
