Storage is nice, especially if it doesn't rotate
Last week, I got a Samsung SSD, to replace a hard drive on a PC that had gotten flaky.
I tried to use Samsung's own software to clone the old drive to the new one. About a dozen times - it never finished. (Confirming the PC's flaky-ness.)
So I Googled for (free) disk-cloning software. My first try was called EZ-something; it was advertised as free, but when I got it set up and clicked the button to start cloning, it demanded a ransom.
Continuing my search, I finally found https://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/discwizard.
That worked fine for my cloning, and it seems not to be restricted to PCs with a Seagate drive on them. (My recollection is that the software is from Acronis - I've already uninstalled it.)
