Storage? I am Storage!
I installed XP-32bit, XP-64bit, and Server 2003 64bit on the same hardware and then ran ATTO on each OS.
The hardware is an Intel D915GEV motherboard, P4 3GHz x64, 1GB Crucial RAM, and a 80GB Seagate 7200.7 SATA hard drive.
On each OS, once ATTO started testing at the 8K level and above the scores stayed pretty much the same to the end of the test. The read and writes also were about equal.
XP-32bit = ~52428 M/sec
2003 Server 64bit = ~54370 M/sec
XP 64bit = ~56326
