Has anyone messed with modern Homeplug equipment?

See subject.

Newegg's daily email shows a Zyxel Homeplug kit that they claim does 500Mbit. That's pretty damned reasonable for AV applications if it's a real-world number, unlike 802.11n.

I believe the non-standard-compliant Logitech Play.Link devices I used to buy claimed 10 and got about 5Mbps, but they explicitly weren't Homeplug, either.

I have a couple of Netgear 500Mbps Homeplug adaptors (Or draft homeplug 2+ or whatever it is, I don't thing the > 200Mbps draft is actually final yet). I use them to stream HD video to a PS3 which works well. Transferring some files to the PS3 over FTP I'm seeing about 5-10MiB/s, mostly hovering around 6. So performance should be in the ballpark of a 100Mbit Ethernet connection for most purposes (Maybe better since the bottleneck could be the FTP server).
