I got the HT-R540 about a year ago and am very happy with it. Though I wouldn't buy a receiver without 2 HDMI inputs anymore. It is the big thing and I suspect will continue to be for some time to come.

$1800 is a great price for that TV, though I still think a home theater should have at least a 120" screen. That means a projector like this, this or this. All 1080P with HDMI inputs and only a few hundred more than your great deal.

Onkyo/Integra parts have been very good for me over the years but I will offer some caveats.

1. One of the things that attracted me to its products was a longer warranty period. I had some Sony ES-class hardware that spent more time in the shop or being shipped than it did in my home theater system. The only problem is, Onkyo stuff now has the same one year warranty as everyone else. Boo.

2. The display on my receiver died a while back. I went looking for a replacement part. Couldn't find it. Asked an electronics repair guy to look. He couldn't find one (and he's an "authorized service center" for most consumer electronics, though not Onkyo/Integra). He finally called Integra and was told that there was a list of about six parts he could buy for my receiver, and the display was not one of those parts.

Anyway, as far as receivers go, I'd want something that supports HDMI. Preferably something with at least three input ports, as I can very easily see having that many sources, particularly if you're considering an HTPC (which you should).

For the $2000 mark you can get the Sony A3000 series 60" SXRD rear projection telly. You would have to pay for replacement lamps but no worries about DLP rainbows.

Or for a little more and provided you have light control in your viewing room a 1080p front projector would give you a screen size that would really take your breath away.
