I am omnipresent
Most likely, TCP/IP and SMB ("Client for Microsoft Networking").
The usual syntax is something like

\\some.i.p.address\sharename
or
\\servername\sharename

I'm assuming by digital TV, you mean cable box or Tivo or something. A lot of those boxes have ports that are on the unit but not enabled by the TV provider; that stuff is up to them. In some cases there's a way to turn that stuff on and in some there isn't.

hi,
i have a Media player board which uses Linux OS on MIPS core. it is having ethernet port, USB port everything. i want to play audio, video files from Network Attached Server. So, for retrieving files from NAS what are all the software i need to install in my media player board and in what way can i access the data from NAS. I know little bit that we need NFS for file sharing and TCP/IP for for communication. what else we need for accessing data from NAS. Can you please tell me in detail?
