This message applies only to those who upload their avatar to storageforum.net.

There have been some strange happenings with avatars recently and I'm trying to figure out the cause. I don't know if it is database issues or something else. So what I've done is move the upload folder for the avatars.

So if everyone who has uploaded their avatar, could you please reset it by following the steps below:

1.) Go into your profile and select the check box for deleting your avatar. This will clear out the old database information.

2.)Your old avatar has not been deleted, it is still available in the gallery under "renamed_avatars". Please save the copy to your home pc and then upload it again. This directory will be deleted eventually so do not select your avatar from this gallery, only use it to save it to your pc. (right mouse click > save image as)

If you have your own saved copy, then don't worry about searching through the gallery, just upload the copy once again.

If you have any problems, please let me know. Sorry for the troubles.

If for any reason you can't upload to Storage Forum, I have the key to Tannin's website. Just drop me an email. (Not that there should be any need, so far as I know, but if it's helpful, just sing out.)

jtr1962 and myself have been trying different tests with the avatars. Apparently if you upload an avatar and then view the avatar gallery, your uploaded avatar is deleted. And for some reason my avatar was deleted during the night and I did not even visited the site...strange.

Huh? Who zlipped in the timewarp? I logged on, read Buck's last post, slipped over to take a look at the Intel vs AMD upgradability thread, read that, composed a reply, posted it, came back to the index, saw that Buck was the most recent poster, in this thread again, clicked on it, and would up reading the exact same post that was here earlier. So that post of Buck's that I read before starting my post in the other thread actually didn't get posted until after I had already got here and read it .

My head hurtz
