Internet content filtering proxy/firewall w/ logging

I've been asked for help setting up a proxy / firewall box that can filter the internet for inappropriate content as well as log internet access. I Googled around some and didn't come up with any real clear direction. I know a linux box can easily provide the framework for the task, but I didn't find a lot on how to selectively filter internet content. I assume you would need some sort of blacklists / whitelists that are updated with some frequency, but I didn't really find a lot of details on who such offers products.

Any thoughts suggestions that aren't bank breaking?

OpenDNS fixes a lot of stuff for me, but I wish they had better a better reporting system in place.

Yes, but most of the appliances have tons of built-in limitations and subscription fees. I'm capable of putting such a system together, but OpenDNS is really easy to set up and use.
