I learned this evening that a young man I've known died in Australia on February 25th. News are scarse. He apparently drown. He was only 27 years old and he was visiting Australia and working from place to place to earn money to continue his trip. From what I can understand, he was near a major city, but not into it. I don't know which city it was, but since there are only 6 or 7 major cities in Australia, that should narrow the search. His family name was Bernard.

His body is still in Australia but should be sent here soon.

If you fellow Aussies could look in your local newspapers (those from last week if you still have them) for additional informations, it would be appreciated. We have people from Brisbane, Canberra and a few in Ballarat (not too far from Sydney) in this forum. I really don't know where he was at the time he passed out, but I'd like to know. I doubt you'll find anything, but thanks anyway.

Sad news, Coug. I believe I heard about someone drowning in Adelaide around that time, though I rarely listen to the news these days. I'll see if I can turn up a link to an Adelaide paper.

I have been looking in a few places, no luck as yet, but I'll keep at it.
