I can't begin to describe how bad I feel this is going to be for society. Giving someone exclusive rights to a diagnostic process or a method of treatment seems obscene.

I want the patent for using exercise and/or diet to deal with obesity.

I wonder how the EU will acknowledge such patents?

And since here in Oz we tend to acknowledge US patents, I also wonder if this will lead to Oz starting to ignore the US patent system all together, since it's obvious that the US lawmakers now only support the corporations lining their pockets and have in interest in actually serving the general populous. (How does this affect Obama's medical reforms under plan in the US)?
