Mount CD-images

Daemon-tool is very handy for mounting ISO/Bin/Cue etc...cd-images in windows. It shows up as an additional CD drive.

There are others, but daemon-tools has worked ok for me.

Alcohol 120% does that, also. It's not free but those of with heavy burning needs and a dislike of Nero 6 might want to look at it.

It also fixes copy-protected CDs and functions properly in Windows Safe Mode.

wait... do you mean win2k/XP safe mode? cause in win9x I thought you lost CD support in safe mode.

btw, I used daemon tools with a shell extention called awxDTools

It allows you to easily right click on an image and mount it.

Any recommendations for tools that can create the images? I have some problematic kids' stuff. Thanks.

Any burning software that will make ISOs should work. The software supports other formats as well (bin/cue...). I use Nero myself.

My usual method is to create the ISO on the hard drive, mount the ISO, then install from the ISO. That way the game "sees" a consistent drive letter and doesn't freak out when started.

Methinks the problem CDs have some form of copy-protection, that's why installing from the the ISOs doesn't work.

hmm... Daemon Tools' has a game database for problems such as yours.

Thanks, Howell. As I suspected, the game in question, "Barbie: Swan Lake" is not listed there . I don't play games, my 8-year old does :lol:

Incidentally, the 3rd party awxDTools_IconSet01.exe add-on for Dameon tools is flagged by Norton Antivirus as containg Adware.
