Has anyone been able to move Windows 7 to different hard ware? If so, how?
All I get is a BSOD.

I haven't done it personally, but a friend ghosted the HDD to the new HDD, installed the new HDD in the new machine, and then ran a repair off the installation CD to get it to work...

Like previous windows versions, it really likes some fundamental hardware to at least be the same type. A repair install is the best way if it works for you, but I don't do this kind of thing because of all the headaches it usually causes. I would try installing the drivers for the new hardware before moving the installation. I'm sure some of the sysprep stuff would help as well. If I have an old install of something that I must keep, I virtualize the old machine and host it on the new one.

I recall reading that Windows 7 doesn't install the drivers for things that aren't in your system to make it start faster but as a results it's more problematic to swap hardware from like a single processor to multi processor system, etc...
