MS stomps on your privacy

Isn't there a way to turn all that stuff off? Even putting aside the possible misuses mentioned, it would annoy me just for the simple reason it increases hard drive clutter.
 
Folks should keep in mind that some of these are reasonable (and, in some cases, even,useful) features that have this bad after effect.
