How can I create a login for MSN Messenger without making a Passport/Hotmail account?
I've seen some people with Yahoo using the Messenger...

you don't need a hotmail account - just use your regular email address. is that what you're talking about?

when you sign up on msn messenger it asks if you have an email address, you say yes, and then you enter it. they word it to kind of direct you to hotmail, but you don't need it.

Ah, now I get it...
I thought I could avoid creating a Passport account in the beginning, but it's unavoidable.

yes, you need a passport. you don't need hotmail.

your cc, personal info, etc are not in there so i don't see how it's any worse than using any other instant messenger. they all require registration.

Well, I only hope MS does NOT sell my private e-mail to any 3rd company cause with a Passport a can access any .NET-related service or site (ie Zone.com).

according to the privacy policy i read, they don't. they can't change it without notifying you via email.
