I have some bills which need to be paid very soon. I'm looking for a $20,000 loan which can be repaid within about 3 or 4 months at most, but more likely within a few weeks. So far I've been rejected by all the online borrowing places I've tried. Can anyone help, either by loaning me the money, or referring me to a place where I'm likely to get approved for a loan? I'd prefer it if the loan can be in USDC so I can pay the people I owe right away. They all accept cryptocurrency as payment.

As for collateral I have my retirement accounts in the event the planned sources I have to repay the loans don't materialize. I can send anyone willing and able to loan me the money screenshots of my account balances.

If you're in desperate need of that money why not take it from your retirement account as a hardship distribution?

Because it's silly to pay income taxes on a short-term loan. And I'll get a hard-time from my financial manager.

Long-term taking $20K out now could mean $100K less or more I'll be able to withdraw from the account over my lifetime. The additional income on my taxes will also increase my student loan payment. I'm on income-based repayments now. My payments have been $0. They won't be if I withdraw $20K.

There are three parts to this loan. I owe $14,700 to one person, $2,700 to another, and I need the rest to pay my real estate taxes by the 30th. I've been doing a new project with someone but he's having cash flow problems. He still owes about $2,700. No idea when I'll get it.

I lost 80% of my last project to the tariffs or I wouldn't even be in this position.

I guess I was trying to asses and understand why the prospective people who may loan you $20k would take on that high risk. If you default on repayment and are already reluctant to use the hardship withdrawal mechanism, how will that person even get repaid in 3-4 months? If no credible institution will loan you this amount, what amount of interest is reasonable to request for a high risk loan? 25+%?

If you are in a hardship now, worrying about a future unknown potential growth is a confusing situation to me. Doesn't matter to me what a financial manager would say (I don't value their perspectives), especially if they are made aware of whatever situation you're in and cannot secure this $20k for whatever purposes you plan to use it for.

What hardship withdrawal mechanism are you referring to? I looked it up and the only thing I found was that they waived the 10% early withdrawal penalty. That's not even applicable in my case since I'm over 59 and a half.

How will that person get repaid in 3 to 4 months? I will have income from the new project by then, and probably also money from my crypto investment. The initial order for the new project is 50 units at $500 profit each. The units are mostly built. My friend just has to start selling them now.

There are two other mechanisms by which I may also get more money by then but I'm not at liberty to discuss them right now. Those mechanisms would be how I can repay the loan within weeks, not months.

I'm willing to actually pay 50% interest on a loan like this to compensate for risk given that my returns from the two mechanisms I just mentioned will be about an order of magnitude higher.

Online loan places go by income, not just credit rating. I suspect this is the reason they rejected my loan application.

It takes about two weeks to get any money out of my retirement account so it's moot. I need it much sooner than that. The retirement account is a long-term option to repay any loans should none of the things I just mentioned materialize.

If nobody can help that's fine. It took a lot of soul-searching to even make this post but my other options are all exhausted and I'm almost out of time.

I'm sorry if you might think I'm a scammer. I'm not. Remember I was scammed out of $260,000 myself last year. I know how it feels. My financial manager doesn't know I was scammed and I prefer to keep it that way.

BTW, I tried for a loan on Candlepowerforums about two months ago and all I got was ridicule. If nobody wants to help that's fine but please don't ridicule me. I've had enough bullshit over the past 8 or 9 months to last a lifetime.

I wasn't thinking that you are a scammer. I am just risk intolerant when it comes to most financial things. Part of assessing risk means obtaining more information to understand better. I'm also an engineer, so pre-planning multiple scenarios and considering multiple outcomes is just part of my nature.

All that said, since you have a financial manager, my recommendation is to have a heart to heart to disclose your situation. The reason people pay for financial managers is to navigate complicated scenarios like this to come up with creative solutions. I have trouble understanding why you wouldn't discuss this with them since you pay for their advice. If you don't value their advice my recommendation is to stop paying them either directly or as part of a percentage of your assets.

I can provide a little more detail about what I need and why:

$2,700 will result in a return of $60,000 for me if successful
$14,700 will result in a return of $209,420 for me if successful

Right now $2,700 is more important because if that part is successful I have enough money to go through with the second part. Note that what I I stand to gain here isn't profit. It's simply a return of some of the money I was scammed out of. As for how and why I was able to get these arrangements, let's just say I've been using a lot of coercion, along with calling in a few favors, on the people who scammed me. When people no longer feel safe in their world they suddenly become a lot more cooperative.

For anyone able and willing to loan me money, there are two scenarios, each with different terms. You mentioned being compensated for risk. I will do that if your money is genuinely at risk. There's a possibility one or both of the above "deals" won't go through. So here are the terms:

You can loan me money under a no risk scenario where you'll definitely get your money back within a few months regardless of what happens. I'll first try to repay using my earnings. If I don't have enough by, say, the beginning of next year I'll repay the balance from my retirement accounts. I'll pay 12% interest from the time I receive the loan until I repay it. For example, if I'm loaned $14,700 and repay 4 months later you'll receive $15,140 back.

The second scenario involves real risk to your principal but potentially much higher returns. If I successfully get paid you get twice your money back. If I don't you lose the entire amount.

Right now I'm only taking a loan for the first situation-$2,700. If it's successful I won't need a $14,700 loan for the second. Anyone who loans me $2,700 under the no risk scenario gets the money returned to them within about 4 months regardless of what happens, plus 12% interest for however long I'm using the money. If you choose the second scenario, you get back $5,400, possibly within a week or two, if I successfully get the $60,000 promised to me. If I never get it, you lose the money.

Lastly here's a screenshot of my Chase accounts to prove I have the money to repay:

To do this would ruin any trust he has in me. Last November I did a $135,000 rollover to cover part of the fees the fake investment platform wanted to unlock my account. Of course since they were scammers they would never unlock my account no matter how much I gave them but I didn't know this at the time. I told him the money was for partial payment of the house to my brother and sister, and that I would cover the rollover within 60 days when I got paid the settlement for my bike accident. In truth I had already been paid my settlement several months earlier. When I realized I would miss the rollover deadline and be forced to pay taxes on it, I used the money in my brokerage account to cover it. At the time I had over $180,000 in that account. Yes, there were still taxes, but just long-term capital gains of about $30,000. In my tax bracket this will only result in about $2,500 in additional taxes, not the $40K or so in taxes if I was unable to cover the $135,000 rollover. He wasn't happy about this because it meant $135,000 less invested with Chase. He locked withdrawals from my retirement accounts until January of 2027 so I couldn't pull another stunt like this.

The bottom line is I lied to him with a straight face. I told him my settlement was delayed, so we had to cover the rollover using my brokerage account. Chase doesn't like cryptocurrency. I fear had I told him everything they might have dropped me as a customer.

I understand you're in a tough situation with all this. I also understand that your intents are to get to a better situation through whatever creative means are possible to you.

Here's where I have to be clear that based on how I manage risk and finances, I could not consider this loan based on what you've shared.

You have a financial manager that you elected to have, and pay for, but won't use their advice. Even more so, you have actively admitted to lying to them to get to your end goals. I wouldn't want to risk you lying to me in the future as you navigate yourself through other financial situations that may happen because I don't think you would want to lie and I wouldn't want to be in that position.

My simple logic here is, if you're willing to lie to a person you chose to hire, in order to manage your assets, can you understand my sincere apprehension for the future possibilities of this?

I understand. Hopefully someone else here can help then.

I explained my reason for lying to my financial advisor. If I told the truth it's entirely possible Chase would dump me as a client and my finances would be a complete wreck.

There's no help I can get from my bank anyway. Chase doesn't do personal loans. I already asked about that. This would have been the ideal solution to my problem. Also, the only reason I'm asking for a loan now if because my real estate taxes are due in less than three weeks. If I get paid any money for the project I'm doing before then I have to put that money towards the real estate taxes. I need loans for any expenses beyond that.

This has been a perfect shit storm. After I got scammed I lost most of the business from my last project due to the tariffs, and one of our former customers copying our design. After that my bank account gradually got drained paying the bills. Now I have just enough left to pay this month's electric bill. Never mind next month. I hope I can get paid enough for the current project this month to at least cover the taxes.

$2,700 isn't much money by most standards. If the tables were turned, I had the money, and someone here needed it, I would loan it without hesitation, but that's just me. In the past I loaned over $6,000 to a friend twice. No promissory notes. I also was worth far less at the time. But again that's just me. I trusted him enough that he would repay, which he did.

I would consider starting a GoFundMe but I'm almost out of time.

I'm also rather disgusted how I've been going around screaming for help for the past few months to anyone who might be in a position to help and nobody was willing. This included a person who still owes me $9,000 for design work for a project years ago which didn't sell as well as we had hoped. That doesn't say much for the human race.

I'm talking to a loan shark later today about loaning me the money. He'll loan me the $20,000 but he wants $100,000 back in two months. I'll still be over $150,000 ahead if the two deals work out, so it's not too bad. There is no out for me if either of the deals I mentioned fail to materialize. If I can't repay on time I have no idea what's going to happen to me but it's not going to be good.

I'll tell my brother about the situation a few days before the loan is due, and give him my login info for this site. If I'm dead he'll post here to let everyone know.

The nice thing about having hard times and needing help is you weed out the people who are really your friends instead of just posers. I already dropped a bunch of people from my life, some of whom I helped when they needed it.

I still can't understand why you would take the option of an insane 500% repayment shark loan vs just using the money in your taxable brokerage account. You already posted that you have $43k there. Transfer or liquidate those assets for your needs and if it's taxable income, so be it. Why are you continuing to make very high risk gambles on "maybe" situations for income when you have a concrete amount that meets your needs now?

I really think you need to hire a new professional fiduciary to get you a better plan here. Everything you're describing is just compounding concerning financial decisions on top of each other.

I also find it really disappointing that you are equating that people won't help financially when really the help you need here is better planning and less risky solutions. Look, I'm not a professional financial advisor but I can see every financial choice being made is very risky and a gamble. I think you really need to hear that and admit a limitation here. To be clear I'm not talking about you being scammed. That is truly unfortunate and my heart goes out to you. I just don't want to see you dig an even deeper hole for yourself to get out of but I can't logically understand these choices being made. This makes me think there's too much of an emotional hardship that you're processing on top of trying to make difficult logical decisions.

You may not like hearing this feedback but please understand this is not me making a personal attack. I genuinely do want to see you get out of this and into a better place. Your current financial decision-making choices under duress and in desperate times is not good and I think this is where you need the help of professionals, not random Internet people blindly giving money.

You are equating friendship with doing exactly what you want which in this case is given the money you're asking for but the reality is, genuine friendship is offering unbiased and candid advise and reflection on a situation. It's unfair to say you don't have friends helping just because you don't like what your friends are offering.

It is emotionally manipulative to say your physical safety may be at risk because other people aren't giving you money. This is your choice and you have more choices you could still make. I highly encourage you take a moment to reflect on the options in front of you. Those options are are not limited to what you've outlined no matter how you're feeling in this moment.

Because that account, and retirement accounts, are locked until January 2027. I didn't post that little detail until post #10 in this thread. Taking money from any of those accounts was never an option. My liquidity right now is less than $1,000 in my savings account.

Is it? I need money now, and those two deals I mentioned are my only short-term hope. I'm tired of living month to month not knowing if I can pay my bills. Between that and getting scammed, not to mention the bike accident nearly two years, you would probably be curled up in fetal position by now. Do you know I've getting food out of dumpsters sometimes? I have a lot of dental work I can't pay for. Two months ago I got a bad infection and a 104 fever from it.

What are your ideas? I tried the less risky solutions of asking friends for help, trying online loan places, and finally trying some forums. Candlepowerforums was a waste. I got ridiculed, so I'm done with that place. Now I'm down to the one solution I had hoped I never would have needed to try. I'm literally going to gamble my life that I'll have the money to repay the loan shark. That should tell you how desperate I am.

I spent months going after people I despise, namely the scammers, and calling in favors, to get the two deals I mentioned. I'm not going to let all my hard work fall apart now for lack of a relatively small amount of money. Yes, a year ago $2,700 was pocket change to me and I'm far from rich. In the event my crypto investment fails, even though this seems less and less likely, I'll need that money. $260,000 or so will buy me financial security for a while.
You may not like hearing this feedback but please understand this is not me making a personal attack. I genuinely do want to see you get out of this and into a better place. Your current financial decision-making choices under duress and in desperate times is not good and I think this is where you need the help of professionals, not random Internet people blindly giving money.

Sorry but there are no more choices. And frankly your sermons here about risk likely sabotaged any chance of any other members here loaning me the money.

I said my piece. If you can't or won't help, that's fine. Everyone has to make decisions in life. Same goes for anyone else reading this. If a person is genuinely broke I can't fault them for not helping someone in need. I don't know your financial situation. Maybe you're living paycheck to paycheck, in which case you can't help even if you wanted to.

I genuinely pity you because you sound like a person who never wanted to take any chances in life. I did. If I can survive the next few months I might be a multimillionaire from the crypto investement but before then I have bills to pay. I also need a contingency plan in case the crypto investment fails. I'm sure there will be loads of jealously if I become rich, especially from the people on Candlepowerforums whom I even told about the investment. My only answer to them would be I gave the info to you on a silver platter, even told you exactly how to invest. They could have been in a similar position.

Just so you understand me better, I don't have much of a future with the assets I have. My brother and sister want their share of the house. I won't have enough to live on and buy a place of my own should this happen. I'll likely be homeless and destitute. So if nothing works out my long-term plan has always been to take my own life. A few months ago after getting scammed I even bought cyanide pills. The last few weeks I finally had a little hope between the two deals I mentioned, and how promising the crypto investment appears now that it launched. This why I'm resorting to gambling my life now with the loan shark. I'm all out of options. If nothing works out and I can't pay the loan shark I'd be taking my own life in a matter of months anyway. It makes no difference then if I die just short of my 64th birthday, or a few months later.

Another thing worth mentioning regarding the second deal I mentioned. I actually needed $24,700 for it, not $14,700. The person I met who helped me with it is offering to loan me $10,000, and yet we only know each other a few weeks. I'm touched by this. I really am. Unfortunately she lacks any liquidity beyond that to help further.

To anyone worried that I can't come up with $2,700 within a few months if both deals fail I offer this. This is the latest project. Five units are ready to send to my friend, and 45 will be done within a week and change. He'll pick those up in person. I'm clearing $500 a piece for these. Once he starts selling them and gets paid, I'll start getting paid, although this might not be for a few months.

My idea as mentioned earlier is come 100% clean to your JP Morgan financial manager and give them all truth of what's going on. Your accounts are locked, ok, so tell them what's going on. Have them work with you to make a plan to get to a better financial situation. They're motived to keep your money there and working for both of you. Time is of the essence, call them today. You are not the first person to be in this type of situation, this isn't unique and they likely have ways to help navigate this or at least provide additional resources.

Sorry but there are no more choices. And frankly your sermons here about risk likely sabotaged any chance of any other members here loaning me the money.
This is quite interesting all by itself. My "sermons" are logical risk management, not emotional, not personal. If you can not articulate fault in my logic in how I was seeking clarity in order to manage risk via transparency, then your response to call it sabotage are self evident. I spoke only about how I would not invest in this loan and did not advocate for anyone else in public or private. You may also forget that I do have an obligation to seek clarity for concerns for risk as the admin of this forum. The information and details stand on their own and anyone is welcome to challenge my assessment of this situation. This is a public space for anyone to read and if I'm asking for details to assess a risk and you think that's sabotage, then you're misguided. Even saying it's sabotage without refuting my logic is a huge red flag all by itself.

I said my piece. If you can't or won't help, that's fine. Everyone has to make decisions in life. Same goes for anyone else reading this. My financial situation is irrelevant here. You're not hearing me when I'm suggesting the way to help isn't simply by sending money. My help just isn't what you're willing to accept.

I genuinely pity you because you sound like a person who never wanted to take any chances in life. I did. Quite bold of you to assume I've taken no risks based on our interaction or that you know anything about who, what, or where I've been. I will have zero jealousy if you get to have your crypto payday. The part you seem to be missing here is I genuinely want you to succeed. I want you to get out of this hardship, I want you to get to do better and more meaningful things that interest so you can move on from all of this. I'm not making personal attacks, I'm not ridiculing you, I'm trying to offer feedback that isn't just what you want to hear. I literally could have not replied to this thread and say I don't care, but I do want to see you get to a better place.

Just so you understand me better, I don't have much of a future with the assets I have. My brother and sister want their share of the house. I know I've mentioned this before but want to make sure this is clear. You have options. If you're considering suicide and/or in a crisis you can call, txt, chat by using the number 988.

Here are other resources I hope you may consider. There's no harm or shame in having a conversation with someone. Even if you just want someone to listen, these are good resources.

You don't understand. The process to get any money out of those accounts takes over a week. In fact when I did the rollover last year it took over 3 weeks to get everything ready. I simply don't have the time right now for this.

Of course I understand as admin of this forum it's your job to address any concerns. If you had a new member here suddenly post about some unrealistically profitable "investment" you would be 100% right to be concerned, and to advise any long-term members to steer clear as it would most likely be a scam.

I'm insulted that I'm being treated like this given how long I've been here, plus the fact I've already done business with a few members. Do you think I'm going to spend energy and time to scam people here out of a lousy $2,700, or even the larger amount of $14,700, especially when many here know my real name and address? These amounts are meaningless to my long-term financial health, not to mention I'm not risking my freedom for such ridiculously small amounts. I even offered two options. The first option is a guarantee to get your money back within 4 months or so. Worst case I'd take it from my retirement or brokerage accounts but more likely than not I wouldn't need to do that. The second option does in fact pose a risk of losing money but I offered what I consider adequate compensation for this. It's up to the person which to choose.
My financial situation is irrelevant here. You're not hearing me when I'm suggesting the way to help isn't simply by sending money. My help just isn't what you're willing to accept.
OK but I need money now. You're forgetting this. Just for starters I have over $4,000 in bills due in less than three weeks. Do you know of any loan places where I'll definitely be offered a loan, even if it's at 25% interest to compensate for the risk? That's still a far better deal than what the loan shark is offering me.
Well, you're in the minority. Success breeds jealousy, even when it's hard won or deserved. It's nice of you to reply. By the same token sometimes people who hit hard times just need a little help until they get on their feet again, nothing more. I've even said it many times with regard to our welfare system. Just give people money with no strings attached, unless they're addicts, in which case get them into treatment.

This is for people who are ready to take their lives out of passion. I've thought everything through. There is no passion here, just cold logic. I have no real future worth living if things don't work out here. I've struggled all my life and I'm sick and tired of it. My death will bring my siblings each half the house, plus whatever I have in other assets. Bringing them a better future is worth my life if there is no other way. Right now their futures don't look so great, either. Yes, they can retire eventually but they'll lack money to do much. I went into the scam investment to bring everyone a better future. Sadly it didn't work out that way but it doesn't mean plenty of legit opportunities don't exist in the crypto world. Indeed, I probably found one. We'll know for sure soon enough.
