Nero Backup

So, I recently got a DVD burner (exchanged the Panasonic my bud got me for a Sony due to wider media compatibility, although I do now feel dirty with a Sony). It came with Nero-this and Nero-that, which included Nero backup. Does anybody have experience with this product? Is it worth it? Is it just the thing to get me to regularly backup my junk? Or is it doing something that Windows (XP) already does better?

IIRC Nero backup just backs up a whole drive onto CDs or DVDs. Not really the most efficient thing in the world.

After playing with it a little bit it will let me choose specific folders, and it does some sort of compression. Compression for backups....isn't that a bit risky?

Most backup programs have a compression option of some kind.
