New Chip for Intel
Moving away from focus on speed

"Intel Corp. is working on a new chip technology that allows PCs to continue with one task, such as streaming video, while powering down and rebooting, the chipmaker's Chief Operating Officer Paul Otellini said Tuesday."

Isn't that why we use multiple computers? Personally, I've got my desktop and two laptops on my desk, partially so I can segregate tasks on different machines.

What ever happened to the damn P5 Prescott that was so hyped up and supposedly going to topple AMD for good (not that Intel hasn't officially done that already, at least in the OC/hardcore gamer department).

It's put on hold until the BTX form factor cases and motherboards are out...

Cheers,

Jan

Prescott supposedly has "hidden" 64bit-ness, too, at least according to the Inquirer. Intel's delaying it in the futile hope of finding a market for Itanium.
