You know that 2.7 has been around for about 3 months, right? The best part is that the new HDTach DTR test is even faster and less accurate than ever.

Nope, didn't know that. JoJo submitted the news and it's also in the tools section seen here. LiamC posted a good xbit article describing how they have taken a step backwards with this version, much as you described.

As I didn't remember anyone posting about it, and with the homepage change and all, I thought I'd put out info about it.

The results are weird. I have a single XL 18 that it shows with reads around 100 mb sec. Yet my array, averages about 28 mb/sec, with good
burst and access time.

REALLY weird.

Version 2.7 is actually a step back for me. It only reads the first 8GB of the drive and there's no check box for advanced size check. No fix either-according to the docs on some Win95/98/ME systems HDTach will only read the first 8GB of the drive.
