Yes, I actually DO know how to spell Prognostications. Of course, my hyperactive left flipper can't... anyway...

I'm already wondering if there will be single-channel AND dual-channel SAS mobos available, or if there will be SAS channel(s) with a serial-to-parallel SCSI "legacy" convertor (i.e. -- D68 connector) on some mobos.

SAS is more than a serial form of SCSI, it's also communicates *full duplex* SCSI -- which you can sort of think as Fibre Channel for the masses. In addition, SAS can seamlessly support SATA drives (HD, CD/DVD, etc).
