I did. It's cool. :)

I hadn't realized that Porsche was making such a wild monster. After reading up on it, I wondered if the driver in the video mightn't have been better off with traction control enabled.

0 - 100mph and back down to 0 in less than the length of an aircraft carrier. 0 - 200kph in less than 10 seconds. Not too shabby.

I also have the McLaren Mercedes SLR review video they referenced if you're interested? Let me know and I'll upload.

Yeah...I kind of loved/hated the video too. :)

That's an impressive car....but $400+K seems like about $300K too much to me. I wonder how many they will actually make/sell at the price. I'm guessing that you'll probably have to be on some special list to get one. If I ever did get one, I would be too afraid to drive it (because of the price)!

$400K is way too much for a car. However, they did one hell of a job with it. I love the sound of that V10, the whir it makes gives me goose bumps.

If I was able to afford that car, that would mean $400K is chump change. I wouldn't worry about driving the car. However, I know what you're saying. :)

A bit more on-topic (alternative energy) since I detoured this entire thread earlier (sorry mubs).

Daimler-Chrysler and GM to work together in hybrid technology.

article

As was mentioned earlier in this thread, this will be the gas-engine-mated-with-an-electric-engine style technology; hardly the most eco-friendly, but certainly a step up from current fossil-fuel-burning-only designs.

Somewhere in time.
Since we did wander off a bit, and then got into rich people's toys, I saw a bit of TV yesterday (~ about 6 month's normal quota); was on Nat. Geog. The show was called Tycoon Toys (or something similar) and was about very rich peoples' favorites hobby - owning & flying ex-military jets. Many of these cost $1M a year each to maintain/run. Most gulp fuel at alarming rates. Some require 75 hours of maintenance for each hour of flight. There's a rich bloke in S. Africa who collects them, and he's got 30 different ones, each in perfect condition. He flies each one. Was thrilling just to watch. He has one that was the "fastest" made - climb rate of 50k feet per minute, and they showed it doing that right after take-off - a vertical climb. Awesome.

Z06 pic. The car is on the left. Notice substantial fender flairs for the big meats underneath. Can't wait to read the reviews on this thing:
