Apparently Right-Wingers are celebrating March of the Penguins 'cause the Penguins are monogamous for the season, and go to extraordinary lengths to save their young.

But there are more documented cases of gay penguins than perhaps any other species. The book Biological Exuberance revealed that homosexual behavior had been documented in some 450 species.

After spending years sifting through all the available data, British researchers Glenn Wilson and Qazi Rahman come to an even bolder conclusion in their forthcoming book Born Gay: The Psychobiology of Sex Orientation, in which they write: ‘Sexual orientation is something we are born with and not `acquired' from our social environment.’”

Nope. Strictly southern-hemisphere only. In the northern hemisphere, the same ecological slot is filled by awks. Oh, except for the Galapogos Penguin, of course, but the Galapagos Islands are in the northern hemisphere only in a geographical sense. Ecologically they are part of the south.

The Galapagos Islands are on the equator. It was cool to go swimming with the penguins there, and in March a wetsuit is not required as would be in the Southern ocean.
