Power DVD 10? Anyone used it? Reason to upgrade?

Seems Cyberlink is trying to sell PowerDVD 10. Mainly with the 3D stuff.

Since a couple other threads indicate prolonged exposure might diminish your brains ability to determine depth perception, I'm not really jumping on that part of the sales pitch.

Anyone looked at it, or used it?
Compared to 9 Ultra?

Hmm no wonder power DVD 9 asks me to update every time I launch it now...

I'm still on 7. Was there something worthwhile in 8 or 9?

Greg, might as well hold off until you find a 3D Blu-ray you want to watch. The GTX295 can't do DTS-MA or other high definition audio, so no improvement there in your case.

I went for it anyway. Turned out to be a bit more expensive then the add, when you throw in the CD etc.

Anyway, they moved one easy to use control to I don't know where.

Used to be able to click and pick which drive you wanted to read off. Now it auto finds
the image you have loaded. Guess I better not load two images at the same time, or have two disks in?

Color tuning seems a bit deeper, and, a bit more depth in viewing.

Other then that, it supports more video formats, which is nice, some of the time.

VLC plays a lot of stuff as well, if not better, and, is easier to work with.

Does 7 play Bluray? The version of 8 that came with my player did not play it well on my server. Don't know how it would be on 7 Ultimate.

I don't have a drive, but it appears to support both HD-DVD and Bluray.

I have 8, but rarely use it. Some of the claims are laughable. Is 10 more bloated?

HD-DVD support was removed around 9 somewhere, it was in there for a little while and some warez patches have the ability to add it back in from what I see.

8 came with my Plextor drive, but, it was the standard version, and, would not play half the BR's on my server with 2003.

Ordered 9 Ultra, and, The Beast, and both work perfectly. Haven't tried 8 on it. No reason to, other then for testing, and, I really don't want to drive to Salinas if some software screws up my 7 Ultimate install.

10 was a seamless install, and seems to have a bit better color settings.
