Question on WD MyPassport Ultra 3TB

Does anyone know anything about this 3TB model? Is it a 9.5mm 2.5" drive inside? I have the 2TB model but will grab this to extract and upgrade a PS4 if that is the case.

I doubt it. The 3TB and 4TB 2.5" drives are rather thick, typically 12.5mm or 15mm. Why would the enclosure be 21mm thick if the drive is only 9.5mm?

Ah ok, my mistake. I was confusing the Backup Plus drives which use a 9.5mm drive inside with the MyPassports which must be using the fatties.

So here's why they are thicker - they integrated the USB interface onto the HDD circuit board, making then fatter but not as long as the slimmer drives where the USB interface sits at the end:

The drive inside the enclosure has a z-height of 15mm because it uses up to 5 disks; not because of the integrated USB interface.
