Thank you for your suggestions. How about a good fee-based software for this type of work. Something that can also eliminate hisses and crackles from LPs. Anybody ever try Magix Audio Cleaning Lab 3.0?

I am omnipresent
I don't remember if Nero has a builtin recorder, but it does have a WAv editor with hiss and pop removers. Plus, you already have a copy.

I need good, free, software for recording music that comes to my Line-In on the computer. Any ideas?

iGary likes Goldwave. I've been too busy to try it. It is NOT free, $40. Sorry.

iGary recommends Goldwave to the masses, but actually doesn't use Goldwave.

Actually, I use a combination of Sonic Foundry's Sound Forge and CD Architect.

For multi-track recording, I don't bother using the computer since I am decidedly "old school" when it comes to that type of audio work. Instead I use, these days, a hard-drive-based Alesis HD24, Allen & Heath mixing console, and patchbays.
