Renting space for a broadcast tower?

I'm investigating what I should charge for someone to install a broadcast tower at one of our sites. Does anyone here have knowledge on this?

I am omnipresent
Around here, farmers get a decent sized initial payout ($10k) for a 400-foot-tall windmill, plus $500 a month, plus removal of the windmill at the end of its useful life.

I would think a real estate person could help with this or maybe someone at the Chamber of Commerce. I don't know anything myself.

I did some research, and talked to the installer. It looks like $250k/mo, plus electricity usage, 2mb/s symmetrical internet, and removal of the equipment is what I'll be able to get. Considering I'm currently running a T-1 out there, it should save another $500/mo.

Why didn't you say so in your OP?

if you only need 2mb(its)/s (or do you even need that?) symmetrical (do you *need*, or just want symmetrical) what is the requirement for MW? Assume you mean MW by 'broadcast tower'? There are no other options available? Cable/DSL if you're close enough, have the right optional service could provide that.

As usual, NEI (not enough info) in the OP ...typical Internet twitter/blogger style one line posting :p

Can get satellite service for that $$$/mo, don't need a huge disk?

Shoot, even 3G cell phone goes that fast in some locations, with 4G to top that in a few years.

There are many assumption here that are wrong.

1. I hadn't spoken to anyone before posting here.
2. I'm currently paying for a T-1 (1.5/1.5), so a 2/2 would be comparable
3. What is a MW? Microwave? This is 5.6Ghz stuff.
4. We aren't doing it for the internet connection, the question was about cost.

I am now unclear about what you are asking. Are you asking:

1. How much should you charge someone to install a tower on a piece of property you own?

2. How much should it cost YOU to lease access?

I'm wondering if the phrase in the original post should be "should be charged".

What are the downsides? How critical is the uptime to you? We use a wireless provider for some clients and have some difficulty with packet loss during storms. This might not be an issue for you in your location but it is worth checking into.

It is the first. How much are we going to charge them for installing a tower at one of our facilities. Part of the payment they are offering is an internet connection.

Storms don't really happen here. We are a client of this company at other locations, and have had a fairly good experience. The thought is that if this is their backbone, they will have better reliability.
