Handy link Steve. The traffic on Interstate 5 looks typical, although it seems a bit light around Boeing Field for 7 am. Now, at 7:30 it's starting to slow down. I like the video cameras too. The one at the 5 and S320th exit is very familiar, I had friends that lived near Browns Point and I would exit at 348th.

I just pulled into the hangar parking lot at 7:15.

Traffic was only somewhat obnoxious since I carpool and get to use the diamond carpool lane.

We check the freeway status almost every day before heading home to see if there are any smash-ups that can be avoided.

I knew a guy about 10 years ago that had a laughable army green 1961 VW van (and still does, I believe -- had about as much horsepower as a lawnmower) that regularly drove in the High Occupancy Vehicle lanes (HOV) all by himself. To drive in the HOV lanes, you are supposed to have a total of at least 4 people in your vehicle. His trick for qualifying was that he had three inflatable people dressed in old business clothing seated in the back!

Well, his trick went well for a few years until he finally got caught. At his traffic court hearing, it was revealed that he was spotted by a regular copster inflating his "guests" one morning before getting into the HOV lane. The cop simply radioed to one of the Houston Transit Police patrols about the bogus ride heading his way.

Since then, I've heard of another case of someone using inflatable dummies in a sedan. There's probably been more. Heehee.
