What kind of nonsense is this? Maybe Seagate should build the drives better to begin with. :idea:
Or maybe it will be a Samsung.

Maybe it's their way of pleasing the masses, when their external HDDs are severally mistreated... A drive comes in, according to SMART, the G sensor reading is off the chart, and they send back a note to the customer saying "no data recoverable". Also how many customers will actually take up the offer? (Reading it, it seems to only apply to certain external HDD models, and not their full product range).
