How can I check to see if a drive is still in warranty? Their site doesn't seem to be too helpful...

They tell you when you do an RMA.
They've taken in drives beyond three years old from me, though, and sent working replacements.

That's a lame process. I don't know how old this drive is (from a friends computer). Not worth the time sending it in just to see if it's covered (80GB, SP0802N).

There's a "manufacturered on" date on the label of the drive that should give you a rough guess.

Since we're not sure how this drive developed some unreadable sectors, and now it seems fine after a fdisk and format, I think we'll just pick up one of the 120GB Seagates for $50 at BBuy (need local and quick) and use this Samsung as a backup.

I'm pretty sure the drive is over 4 years old anyway. The system has a Barton 2500+ @ 3200+ in it and was using a Radeon 9500 graphics card. That seems about three years old...
