Should I upgrade from IE 5.5 to IE 6.0?

I know, I know, a lot of you gag at the mention of the word, but for many reasons, IE is my main browser. I use FB 0.7 about 40% of the time.

Way back, I read something somewhere that IE 6 was evil, and stayed with 5.5. I can't even remember now what I read. Any reasons not to upgrade?

I was going to make smart-assed comments about how much better automatic picture re-sizing and marginally better page printing are, compared to tabbed browsing, image permissions and popup controls, but I'm tired tonight so let's just leave it at "IE is evil".

i just installed win2k SP4 .. on boot after a visit to black vipers page I was using 45MB of RAM with only task manager open... now after installing IE6 SP1 the machine uses 58MB of RAM on boot with only task manager open...

this may not be much to you, but on an old laptop with 64MB of RAM it does make a difference.

Upgrading to IE6 can be problematic on 98SE... at least it was for me.
