Thanks everybody! Everything is going great. We've been making several trips to the hospital for blood bilirubin level tests because Brendan had some jaundice that needed monitoring. He underwent some photo therapy to get his bilirubin levels down and now he's in perfect health. We are home for a while now until the next pediatrician checkup. (10 days).
Being a dad is great!! Getting up every 2-3 hours to help Shan breastfeed or change a poopy diaper is not great.
Shan and I laugh because sometimes we talk to each other while we are still dreaming. We are creating some great memories with the arrival of our son.
Below is a link to one of my favorite pics of him. I like it because he looks pissed off. This is a few minutes after his ejection from paradise into this world. I'm trying to think of a good caption to put under it.

Shan is doing great. Her words are "it wasn't that bad... it's the contractions before the pushing that actually hurt." Just a few stitches and she is good to go. All I can say is she must have had a good epidural. She is a tough cookie.
I didn't think I'd be able to even watch the delivery let alone cut the cord. But when the time came and his head started poking out, I was so excited and happy that everything that seemed scary and gross just didn't matter anymore. I couldn't NOT do it and I was even helping Shannon through the delivery. Luckily I did miss seeing what the other *stuff* (placenta etc) that came out looked like. What a great moment in life. I now have the scissors I cut the cord with as a momento. It's something I will NEVER forget.
Brendan is sitting right here next to me and says hi.
I'll be around... See Ya All!
