Hi
I am wondering about getting a sound card to work with my Klipsch pro media speakers. NOT my Klipsch in the living room, the other computer speakers.

Mercutio does that wild card of yours work for something as regular as head phones, those speakers, etc :?:

Thanks

Those speakers require a four channel soundcard (i.e. two mini plugs). I would say that Merc's card is a bit of overkill in this application, his would be good if your speakers could take a digital signal.

Something like this would be spiffy.

You can spend $25 more on basically the same card from Turtle Beach.

The main advantage is that this is *not* an AC97 implementation. Something that starts its life @ 44.1kHz will be 44.1kHz throughout transport and output.

The correct way to use an X-Mystique - and I think I just said the same thing to Groltz - is to connect it to a Home Theater receiver and to enable the Dolby Digital encoding. If you aren't doing that, you might as well use onboard sound.

Envy is pretty much the only GOOD sound implementation below $100.
