Hi,
This is my first post here, it seems like this is a pretty helpful place, hopefully some one can help me out!
I have a StorageTek L180 Tape Library hooked up directly via SCSI to a Dell PowerEdge 2650 Server(Windows Server 2003). I'm using Symantec Backup Exec 11 The Server sees and recognizes the Library as a device. The tape drive in the Library however is not even showing up in the Device Manager. The tape drive is connected via a different SCSI card(which operates fine except for seeing the tape drive)
My Question is: The error i receive is "Host Adapter Configuration Error." "SCSI BIOS Not Installed" for the tape drive SCSI card. Since i dont want to boot from the tape drive do i need the BIOS installed? and if it doesnt matter if it is or not installed why cant i see the drive in Device Manager?
The device manager says the SCSI cards are operational.
Thanks in advance!!!
