WTF is the point of the "image verification" when you try to search for posts? Apart from pissing people off, that is.

Guest Search Image Verification:
This option only applies to forums that have guest searching enabled. If enabled, this option will display a random image to guest when they attempt to search. The user will have to copy the contents of the image in order to verify that an automated system is not searching.

Are you logged in when you tried to search? If not, that's why you saw the image. I've disabled the option...

Wow...it's still slurping. What kind of bandwidth is that thing using?

It sure is... Last I checked it wasn't that bad. It's probably doing it really slow as to now cause a lot of strain on the website (that's my guess). The thing that makes it look like a big deal is that they're coming from multiple IP's so it registers a new session making it look like many many users.
