So I'v got a 32 inch panasonic TV, the regular kind not lcd or plasma.
It has two video inputs one in the back and one in the front.
We were hooking the kids vsmile and plug in tv games through the front input but the little hands of our littlest one wants to grab any wire and shake it vigorously.

So I bought a video switch and hooked it up to the back inputs.
I bought an svideo one.
Funny thing with my back input though, if I hook up an svideo input and the regular video input on a signal that is using the regular video input even if the svideo is off, I get black and white. I was trying to clean the connector and all sorts of things before I figured out it was just connecting the svideo connector.

So I think what I need is an svideo switch that upsamples to svideo from regular video. or a new tv that isn't dumb about inputs. I didn't see one at best buy, maybe I missed it?

I suspect going from composite to s-video would be unreasonably expensive for what you want to do, if you can figure out any way to do it so your going the other way it'd be a lot cheaper.

Well I got the switch yesterday and it does what I want.
Upsamples to svideo. It also automatically switches between inputs which is nice. Problems solved, yippee.

Now I have this other switch which is useless to me... It cost like $40 dollars though. I figure it was worth about $5. I hesitate to throw it out but I probably won't get anything for it on ebay. To the trash bin it goes then.
