Hi
I've always wondered what the memory usage was of the games I was playing. Anyway to play, or find records, of what current, and past games use for memory?

Seems like task manager is not visible when I'm playing games...

why not leave task manager or better yet process explorer open in the background, play a little bit and close your game (or alt tab between game and task manager) to see your history.

You can adjust the update speed or the width of task manager as necessary.

Some ways to get a more complete history are a little more involved, like setting up SNMP monitoring or using perfmon.

The built in resource monitor maybe?

I have used the leave task manager open in the background as well.

You can use Performance Monitor that comes with windows. Set it to track the process(es) you want and then select the resources to monitor. Microsoft even has a wizard for setting up perfmon if you want.

Depending on the game I have had problems going in and out via alt-tab. GTA IV for example I have to switch to the map view and then alt-tab works slick. If actually playing the game itself you can get to the desktop but seems to be a crap shoot on whether of not the game will come back. I view this as a bug with the game though.
