I don't usually do much overclocking, but I decided to play around with my Asus P4C800-E-Deluxe. The MB is equiped with a Promise RAID controller that I have disabled in the BIOS. But, when I up the memory voltage, the BIOS ignores my settings and displays the Promise RAID controller during boot-up. XP then finds it and trys to load drivers for it. But in the BIOS, it still says it's disabled. Lowering the memory voltage and the Promise controller is not shown during boot-up and XP doesn't see it. :eekers:

Any ideas whats going on???

why do people up memory voltage?

The memory voltage is best left alone. I would guess that this could be a simple error in the BIOS programming or it could be a sign of instability with the chipset when you try to overvolt your RAM...
