For anyone who was burned when Yahoo! decided to pull its free POP3 access but still wants to check their Yahoo mail conveniently through their local mail client:
http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/
It somehow fools the Yahoo! servers into thinking they're being accessed the way they want to be accessed.
Takes up between 4 and 8 MB of RAM but it's worth it for me because it means two fewer stops to Yahoo! each day (I have to check these accounts regularly for legit mail).
Works as advertised so far.
Check it out.

i had a pop 3 account with geocities.. then yahoo bought them and i had the account with them.. then they dripped it completely... yes, it's a bummer but there are so many other services out there that it's not even an issue for me... especially because I dislike pop3 anyway, with the frequency I reformat or check mail from other computers I prefer IMAP.

fastmail.fm comes to mind... 10MB email box, with IMAP/POP and webmail support... they add a tagline to your emails similar to yahoo, msn, and excite unless you pay a one time fee of about $15.
