I had a package of fiber optic cables USPS'd to me from Schaumberg, IL last week. It was last scanned in Arizona and I do not understand why or how that happened.

Chromebooks mostly have either Celeron N-something, Ryzen 3s for the rare AMD models, or Mediatek Kompanio, Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 or Kyro ARM-based SoCs. High end Chromebooks can have full-on laptop CPUs in them, but those are famously bad at being Chromebooks since they drop all pretense of...

I think it's entirely appropriate for Computers. Who among us doesn't use some or other Google product as part of our computing every day? Re: search as a public utility, I agree that it probably should be, but we in the USA have a political party that can't be trusted with the concept of...

    Google Antitrust

Google's status as a monopoly in search and advertising technologies are being tested in US Federal court starting today. At issue in the first of these trials is the idea that Google both sets the market rates for ad search terms and acts as a buyer on behalf of customers that advertise through...

There are definitely plenty of devices that are still 1GbE only. The 8 bay Synology I've had since the Obama administration, I'm willing to forgive the lack of fast connectivity. Less so something just being introduced to the market.

I usually suggest Boost Mobile to people looking to cut their mobile bill. Boost is a Tmobile MVNO that has a $25 for everything plan with IIRC a 30GB throttled cap. 1kg is a pretty normal weight for a Sigma zoom. It's within the range of normal weight for something I'd hand-hold or balance on the body. It's not the 3kg 120-300 that has to have a tripod mount. I know it's not parfocal, so you don't keep focus while you're zooming, but I'm not a pro video...

Sigma apparently just launched a 28-105/2.8 for Sony that costs half what the RF mount Canon version does, $1500 MSRP. It's big and heavy, but that's implied just by having the name Sigma on it. It's in One True Lens territory for an awfully lot of use cases.

The reason was incompatibility with some VBA macros. The problem with the HC4 is that it's not going to have fast LAN access. You can get a USB to 2.5GbE NIC and that's a start, or sacrifice an m.2 port for 10GbE by an adapter that costs 150% of the board cost. I'm also under the impression that LM wouldn't be terribly comfortable setting up a...
