After a normal Logitech optical mouse, with cord, this new mouse feels MUCH better. Feels better in my hand, seems a bit more precise, and no cord.

Anyone use one of these mobos? Any problems with it? Mine's been giving me trouble from the moment it arrived. It is finally working ok, WHEN I run my memory (Kingston 400MHz stuff) at 333MHz! At 400, LOTS of errors in windows XP. Not funny. THe memory works ok at 400+, tested in another mobo...

How many here use a "natural" keyboard? I just ordered one home, a Logitech cordless optical comfort. It's my first natural keyboard, and feels very weird! I wanted a new mouse, and something in black was the criteria according to my wife ;). So I decided on this. It's not so bad after 15...

This configuration was the first that I would have thought of, but it bothers me to use 2 firewalls/routers for that. :( Sounds like the easiest way to get what you want. And it's not so pricey, as a router/firewall/switch with a lot of ports is pretty cheap.

Yup, just installed some stuff in a case like this, the PS is usually too close to the MB.

Using a Thermalright SLK-800 with a Y.S. Tech (or Sunon, can't remember which) silent 80mm is also a very good combo! Recommended. I also use a Falconrock 3 (?) (with the copper insert in the middle of the heatsink) with the same fan and that seems to work pretty well also, temperature wise...

:) Yeah, we've been through that a few times here also, if I remember correctly. Atleast we went through that some years ago at SR. If I don't already have a XP+SP1 in the bookshelf, I'll probably try slipstreaming it as I haven't done that before (never needed, always had it on cd already)...

Yeah, I'm using 3*160 and one 120 in my linux fileserver, no problems.

Uh-oh, when I checked the computer this morning, I was greeted with a black screen and only the mouse cursor visible. The cursor was moving though, so it wasn't a completely dead machine, but anyway.... So much for the Zalman with a PNY 4200. I'll add a silent 80mm case fan tonight in the...

I just installed (whew, took me almost an hour, and 2 beers) a Zalman VGA heatpipe cooler, ZM80C-hp, on my PNY Geforce 4200. I'm hoping to silence the computer with this. For those attempting to do this, take a look at www.zalmanusa.com -> products -> left navigation, VGA heatsinks -> nice...

Installed the Papst fan. It had the 3 pin connector, so I could just push it on the 2pin connector on the mobo of the switch. Works like a charm. And very quiet. Good enough for me. Gonna check the chassis temp in the morning, to see if it's warm or hot.

OK, this isn't funny anymore. I just relocated the stuff from one computer to another case. I also installed an Adaptec 2940 and a 18GB SCSI disk. As I went to partition and format the SCSI disk, I just realized that only the first 128GB of my Samsung 160GB 8MB drive is utilized! It was a fresh...

I thought about thas, but as this was a VIA KT133A motherboard, it didn't have anything that sophisticated (me thinks).

Fixed it. Kind of, disabled on-board audio, installed old creative soundcard.

Normal sound output is working, if that wasn't clear. It's just the microphone... In the BIOS there are these options for Onboard legacy audio: SB SB I/O base address SB IRQ SB DMA MPU-401 MPU-401 I/P address game port... I'll phone here and check these out.

So I was at a friends house tonight, trying to install a microphone in her computer (which is a normal Duron 1300 on a MSI K7T Turbo ver3, 1gig, integrated audio). WinXP as OS. There was one microphone available and one creative headphone available. So I plug the microphone in, check that...

Those settings might have something to do with it, but otherwise I'm starting to think the MB is just gone... CPU fan connected to the correct place?

MB caps ok? Have you tried clearing the CMOS? Loaded setup defaults just in case? SPD in use?

Do you have the motherboards manual so that you can verify that the beep code is memory? (Didn't check that AMI link, I just assume it's some generic AMI beep code, therefore the extra check came to mind...)

Have you put the memory in different DIMM slots? Are there any DIP switched on the MB?

Can you try the CPU in another computer? My MSI screamed about the memory when the CPU was fried....
