My Dad has an AOpen VK8T800a-LF S754 board that has been chugging along with a 2600+ Sempron (since end of 2005) with no issues. Are AOpen & Asus related at all? The system is working fine for him. What are the odds you think he will have a Cap. issue in the future if he has not had one yet?

I can't believe it's been almost a year since I bought my brother in law his 5770 for about $160 and they are still in the $140-$150 range.... That being said, my 9600GT still runs Dirt2 just fine at 1650x1050...

After some research, it turns out that Lenovo has limited my R61 (as well as the T61) to SATA I speeds even though the ICH8-M controller will support SATA-II. Lame. Kind of a bummer since it was advertised as SATA II in their literature & I should be able to get the higher transfer rates...
