I remember some of the old NF2 motherboards I had allowed me to specify the MAC address in the BIOS. Not sure if more recent systems allow that.

I've swapped out motherboards on an OEM install before. If it asks you to reactivate, just call MS and tell them you had a hardware failure and the motherboard had to be replaced. They will give you a new code w/o problem just like ddrueding said.

Is there a version of Powerchute that adds any value on top of what Win7 Pro x64 will do out of the box? I have not tried any of the Powerchute software yet.... Thanks, Stinker

The single 1TB drive I got with my dad's system was also totally wrapped in bubble wrap and then enclosed in a form fitting box around it. Then that box was in the big box with all the other parts. Very nicely packed indeed.

Good advice. It seems like a lot of the people buying these things aren't really benefiting from them much other than holding a stopwatch while booting their computer and/or running benchmarks. They will be a nice thing to have once the price comes down to a reasonable level though..

Did a little more searching...seems like 2GB is the sweet spot for Vista so I would expect it to be fine for Win 7. Maybe I'll take the $ saved from getting 2GB RAM and get a new PSU to make the system better from a reliability perspective.
