Most likely they just have multiple connections that are load ballanced. If one (or perhpas several) where cut the remaining pipes were either not prepared for the load or the failover routing wasn't performed as effectivley as possible.

    Smoothwall Question

I've had nothing but good experiences with either of my soho routers(D-Link 704 and Netgear 814) However, i've never had any problems with Coyote linux firewall (a floppy based distro) or Smoothwall. I have wished smoothwall had a bit more docs regarding how the thing is setup, but that is not...

    Girl's computer...

Most vidcards now have 2 DACs to allow just that. I can guarantee any Radeon 9200 or GeforceFX that has DVI+VGA+Svideo has 2 DACs. The analog can be used on the DVI + VGA, or VGA + TV, and possibly DVI + TV (not positive).

    Cell Phones

I'm happy with my LG(vx3100) phone as well... I got the most basic model offered with no concern of price, I just don't want a flashy phone. Seagate Model ST351A/X harddrive

If you have the 1st model then it looked like only pins 1/2 needed to be jumpered. I don't think it would hurt if you mis-jumpered the drive, just turn off power and adjust the jumpers as needed.

    New car ScionTC

I've been very pleased with it. It's got a lot more pickup than the v6 Camry it replaced and gets much better gas mileage too (26-27mpg w/ my mixed driving). Bridging a DSL router - HELP!

Several ISPs use the 302G, it should do a good job. ---------- The subnet mask allows a router to determine which part of the IP belongs to the network and which belongs to the host. You have to have some background in the different IP classes, but you can understand that there are networks...

    My system upgrade..

It's nor how much noise the fan makes (as most all fans will create nearly the same noise when ran at a given rpm level), but how much turbulence is encountered by what the air is moving across. Less turbulence equates to less noise obviously. You can reduce turbulence by using more efficient...

Bridging a DSL router - HELP!

That would be a DHCP reservation, however I should be more specific. You'd need a PPPoE or 1483 bridged connection to use your own router. Sechs is right that you can use some VPN clients behind NAT, there are L2TP and PPTP VPNs, the latter does not work with NAT I believe.

Bridging a DSL router - HELP!

Forgot to mention, you might be able to assign your router in the DMZ of the modem/router provided by the ISP. This should pass traffic to your router, where you could then use it as normal. You're be running NAT twice, which may be a bit slower, but I think it would still work. A good tip is...

Bridging a DSL router - HELP!

Your problem is that your ISP uses PPPoA (PPP connection ontop of an ATM connection) All DSL modems speak ATM, but most home routers only speak Ethernet. This is where the problem lies. Your modem/router speaks both Ethernet (LAN side) and ATM (DSL side), inherently this means that you're not...

    Bootable Linux RAID

If you're really in a pinch I could sell you a 3ware 6200-2, good for RAID 0/1 in linux and works with the CLI and web based management for $40+s/h. I was going to use it in a server I'm building, but I think you need it more.

    Bootable Linux RAID

As far as I am aware, the Nvidia RAID is equivalent to an intel, promise, or highpoint host based RAID, meaning they use drivers to accomplish their RAID functions.
