    Really?

I drink very minimally. I tried a few Bloody Mary's but they're just not my thing. The Tres Agaves Bloody Mary mix is fantastic though by itself. Their Margarita mix is the best I've come across.

So my Lexar 200GB microSD card turned out to be bad and is on its way back to B&H. I've been chasing DHL around on the delivery of the case and NW-A35. Customs delayed their delivery by a day, and I had to call DHL this morning since they were apparently not going to deliver the player today...

question Where'd the X79 motherboards go?

So in my x264 benchmark test the E5-2687v2 CPU is just over 24% faster than the E5-2689(v1). The E5-2689 is only about 1.2% faster than the E5-2670. The E5-2687v2 is 70% faster than my i7-4770k overclocked to 4.2gHz. I should note that the E5-2670 test was run on a single CPU of a dual CPU...

I've been spending a little more time at Head-Fi lately again since I was looking into the Sony NW-A35/36/37 Walkman. The collective delusions run STRONG over there. So, apparently Sandisk's 200GB microSDXC cards aren't really 200gB, and I'm not talking about 200GiB vs. 200"GB". They're only 196,865,949,696 bytes. I guess selling a 196GB card just didn't have the same cachet. In contrast, Lexar's 200GB card is 200,788,672,512 bytes. I noticed the two were...

You can choose the seller, but you don't necessarily get something from that seller's inventory if it's fulfilled by Amazon. Amazon treats inventory for any particular item as interchangeable regardless of where it came from (unless there is something unique about it). Effectively (in terms of...

So, are most of the SD and uSD cards priced under Amazon pricing on eBay fake? It sure seems that way. Some are obviously fake where they are selling something that doesn't even exist, like this. That person has at least two accounts selling the same fakes. Their other listing. Others are...

It looks like Costco sells this model for $129.99. I gave it a quick listen. It sounded a tad bass heavy, but it was a bit hard to really get a bead on its sound signature since the bass was rattling the display and the buzzing made it hard hear it clearly.

Playing with the Sony at home it sounds quite good and I'm even more impressed by it. TVs and things

That's not exactly what I said. I wouldn't pay extra to get smart features (if given the choice). However, in the US you're not given a choice. To get other features I wouldn't buy a TV without, you're forced to buy a smart TV. There's nothing wrong with that. Just don't allow it access to...

I personally wouldn't pay extra for a smart TV. Having said that, pretty much any TV that has the sorts of features I want is going to be smart. My current TV is a smart TV. However, the TV has no internet connection and I don't use any of the smart features. As far as UHD or not, the 1080p...

question Where'd the X79 motherboards go?

So, I couldn't help myself and bought an E5-2687W v2 CPU for the single processor x79 motherboard I have. An eBay seller accepted my quasi-lowball'ish offer. It will replace the E5-2589 v1 CPU in that system. I'm sure they'll get cheaper down the road, but I can get some use out of it now.

My sisters house is only a few miles off the blue line. I might have to go visit her. FWIW, I saw the May 10, 1994 total solar eclipse when I was in High School. They basically let us all go outside in the parking lot or field to watch. We were in the path of totality.

Case with most 5.25 bays, to use multiple removeable Hard Drive bays?

You're looking for a dinosaur. Conventional PC cases have moved away from large numbers of 5.25" bays. Quite a few don't have any. Some rack mount servers have lots of removable 3.5" HDD bays, but they don't tend to be quiet.
