Oh, you've got to be kidding me... If I have Calc open, and I go to the menu bar and pick file, open, and then select my .txt file it opens fine asking me how I want to delimit the file. However, If you do a *.txt in the filename box to limit your selection choices it changes the file type...

What the heck are you talking about? Where do you get the idea that I set out to not like it? It simply doesn't do what Excel can easily do. I often open delimited text files in a spreadsheet application and it is less than stellar in this use case.

It's ridiculous that you can't do a file, open from inside LibreOffice's calc and open a .txt file. However, you can right click on the file in Explorer and send it to Calc where it will then open it. A quick Google search shows plenty of other people with the same complaint.

Well, I installed LibreOffice only a short while ago and I already have a pretty low opinion of it. Basic functionality is missing. Like it can not open a .txt file into Calc. Both Excel and OpenOffice's Calc will both open a .txt file and let you chose how to delimit it. I shouldn't have to...

I had a company pester me a few times via Linkedin about a job opportunity and today they had someone I know do the "get introduced" thing Linkedin offers. I politely told them I didn't think they could afford me, and asked what the salary range of the position was. This should be worth some...

I decided to try out OpenOffice after my home use MS Office Pro 2003 key wouldn't activate any more times. It's not like I paid much for the home use version of office, but MS just lost a user. For my uses I think OO will be just fine. I can now get 2013 for free from my current job, but I'm...

I use a P60 host (Solarforce L2P) as a "pocket" light. That said, I don't keep it in my pocket too much unless I'm working on a project. I have a small CR2 powered 4Sevens Quark Mini on my keychain that's with me pretty much all the time. The MX25L3's are fun lights to take on a walk. :)

You'll note they didn't say that they weren't throttling. They just said they they treat all traffic equally. They could have throttling rules that are equally applied to to all traffic that so far only affect Amazon / Netflix.

There's very little turnover in Japan because of the culture. People just don't change jobs, and companies don't lay people off (not sure if the latter is the law or driven by cultural norms). Of course none of that changes that in general Japanese companies don't understand how to do business...

problem Desktop pc freezes after I put it to Sleep a 2nd time

Start removing hardware temporarily from the system one by one until the problem goes away. It's the process of elimination. If you get it down to where you can't remove anything else and still use the system but the problem persists it gets a little more complicated.

There are some decent mid grade lights. The bottom end is mostly junk. Going name brand doesn't necessarily buy you a ton more performance, but usually you get a more refined product and a warranty that's worth something.
