Best IDE add-on board (PCI slot)?

I used to have an Ultra66 some 3 years back, it worked OK most of the time but its early Win2k drivers were absolute pooh, repeatedly causing the dreaded "IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN" BSODs till I threw it out - and the next day they released proper drivers for it that actually worked  But I...

BTW... that Pentium Pro. It got on my nerves, wouldn't always want to boot from CD and I got rid of it for a very nice price on ebay - around $150 on ebay as a complete system with enlight case and all. For the Tualatin my head and wallet don't want to agree with my heart. So go ahead everyone...

How good is the Tualatin 1.13/512k for F@H? I bought one on impulse, it was a good deal, £50 which is under $100 when the new ones go for more than double that. it actually comes with a makeshift Powerleap adaptor - the guy got a pin carriage as he calls it, a socket that takes the the CPU on...

Best Ingredient for Single Topping Pizza

I didn't mean it was unreasonable - just that I find that I can never get myself to cook anything unless I'm starting to get hungry - and if it took 3 hours I'd eat it - and think it was good - whether or not it was :) But thats just me.

Best Ingredient for Single Topping Pizza

Olives or Onions. If it took three hours to prepare you must have been so hungry that my slipper would have tasted nice. Your claims about it being the best pizza are therefore disregarded :P

The point is, he doesn't want to change email addresses as it will be a hassle - all his business contacts have had this address for a few years now. I think Mozilla and some spam filtering it provides will be adequate.

Good idea, e_dawg. I might do that. I use VNC on my machines here at home but didn't think of that. I checked out Mozilla's mail client and it seems fairly straightforward. I've told him to ask the guy who's so happy to charge him hundrerds to reinstall Windows, to install Mozilla and get it...

Oh, and another popular accessory is the sport filter kit, like K&N or Pipercross cone or pancake filters. Most of the time these are done in 5 minutes with a screwdriver in someones drive and this results in a decrease in power in many cases. This is because most people just remove the factory...

For all you SUV lovers (and haters)

Unless the original exhaust is really badly designed, most of cases the power difference is negligable, and by reducing backpressure you increase power, but decrease the torque, so its not much use. De-catting on the other hand gives a noticeable increase in performance. Fushigi, you reminded...

The hybrid Civic is a cool idea, an extension of the VW Golf Ecomatic that used to stop its diesel engine at the lights, it came out around 10 years back but no one cared much for it :( Citroen made a 3.3l/100km diesel version of the AX in 1993 but the whole AX series was so flimsy that they...

You'd certainly need a heatsink on one, and a fan too in most cases. I've run a 233mmx without a heatsink and it was too hot to touch after 10-15 seconds. I remember the time when Cyrix were said to be running so hot and kept crashing, looking at the specs on...
