Is anybody using NAS at home? It used to be that my main rig was powered on all the time. So storing files on one of its local drives meant they were available to all other machines. A few weeks ago, I decided to enable sleep & hibernate, but if the machine is in hibernate mode, it disappears...

I had a Samsung drive (new--factory fresh) a couple of years ago that passed all tests, but it's transfer rates as measured by a couple of benchmarks never surpassed 3MB/s--should have been 60MB/s. RMAed the drive. I think I posted about it here.

I used to use Nero SoundTrax from Nero 6 on XP as my audio mixer and Nero Wave Editor as well. But the move to Windows 7 has me stumped. Nero 6 (well SoundTrax and Wave Editor) won't run on Windows 7, and frankly, the idea od shelling out $100 to "upgrade" to the bloatware that is Nero 9...

I'm not convinced of the whole netbook idea at all. My idea of an ultraportable runs to something like the HP DV2z, slightly larger than the 10" Asus, but thinner. It also boasts a 12.2" LED screen--1200x800--discrete graphics, standard peripherals. OK battery life won't be near as good, but...

I had a similar issue and it turned out to be the USB cable. When I used (almost) any device with this particular cable, I got the USB speed messgae. Used another cable and the issue disappeared

I had Win7 installed on a P5K Pro (ICH9) flashed as a P5KR. I had to modify the INF file to do it but it installed and ran fine. Mind you, install was to a SCSI boot drive and the drives connected to the SATA ports were individual disks.

Was in Melbourne for SAP Basis training. Went and saw Star Trek, and it was much better than I was expecting. It looks to be a reimagining of the Star Trek multiverse (a la Battlestar). Kirk I liked least, But Uhura, Spock and Scotty were great. Chekov could really start to grate though...

Why don't you just update the BIOS? THe latest versiuon (which I've been using for nearly a year) is F13i Also, have you tried Eraser for secure erase?
