    Nexus 7 tablet

Engadget really likes this as well. If I actually had a use for a tablet this is the one I'd get. It's probably worth the $50 to get the 16GB version, since there's no SD slot.

    New phone time

Looks like there is an easy way to fix this. Thanks for the S Voice hint. I never tried double clicking the home button. Seems to be a bit faster now.

It's at a lakehouse. No permits were acquired. Would anyone actually bother getting a permit to build a staircase?

    Something Random

We finished the basic structure, but the stairs around the corner need a bit of support added. I don't think there will be a fire hazard. The wood burning stove is used about 3 times a year and there is quite a bit of clearance.

I got my S3 on Friday. I like it so far other than some TouchWiz annoyances. Why can't I disable all animation? Battery life is quite good. Speed is much better than the Evo.

I've been helping a friend build a staircase all weekend. It includes a nice curve 6 steps down and spans a wood burning fireplace. Only 5 more steps to go.

They certainly catch a lot of problems that would require a person to test manually. They also take a lot of time to write and keep up to date. Obviously unit tests are not a replacement for proper QA and regression testing.

    Firefox 11.0 is out.

It used to use more, you could grab an older release. I doubt this will help you though, it was doing a lot of things that were simply wasting memory in the past. Here's an interesting presentation on the work they've done.

    Firefox 11.0 is out.

To expand on this, the last couple releases have reduced memory usage quite a bit. I don't normally see Firefox use over 2GB of memory anymore.

    Firefox 11.0 is out.

Do you normally see Firefox consume more than 3GB of memory? I kill it if it does, because a crash is usually imminent.

They have on Linux, but I use all x86_64 plugins with Firefox on Linux. Both Flash and Java are available in 64-bit. What else do you need?
