Widescreen. I have seasons 5, 6 and 7 in region 2 (UK). 1, 2, 3 and 4 in region 4 (Aus). IIRC the region 4 discs are full screen.

After two days playing here are my conclusions: Extremely fast response compare to CP 995. From Off to On to shooting is instant. In single shot mode it takes em as fast as I can squeeze the trigger. Battery life is excellent, still on the original charge. So much nicer image quality looking...

Got the D70. First impression is that the body is pretty light, my mother has a Nikon F-401 or 501 film body, it's much heavier. Personally I can handle the plastic body, if it gives me a lighter weight. Combined with the kit lens it's only a little heavier than my Coolpix 995, it's easy to hold...

IIRC when you have 4GB of RAM with WinXP etc, about 600MB is reserved for PCI interrupts etc, so you are left with about 3.5GB of RAM usable.

Have you tried using RecordNow instead of Nero? Should be on the software disc for the Sony (at least my 500A had it). I find I get much more reliable burning speeds with RN as opposed to Nero.

HP tend to be the scanners that are most available with ADFs. Actually Comp Genny Baby would prob have the most experience with scanners.

The controller will provide term power by default. That should be sufficient.

I wouldn't enable term power for only two drives.

So you are scanning your school coursework/notes into the computer? Perhaps a scanner with an ADF -automatic document feeder, would speed things up. Sit 10 or 20 sheets in it, start it up and walk away. No need to nanny the thing and swap page after page. Also there is no reason to be scanning...

You can get a 68pin->80 pin converter. Ideally it would be LVD compatible, for maximum performance. Basically you plug in one end into the drive, then the 68 pin cable and a 4 pin power connector on the other side. You still need termination (at the end of the cable).

Yeah looks like they have increased the retail price of the Hitachi, and haven't updated the after-rebate price to match. It used to cost $199.
