CD's and DVD's have a little ridge around the clamp zone in the center. That little ridge seperates the rest of the disks by a small amount when they are stacked.

I read some comments somewhere (might have been this forum) that some types of sleeves react chemically with the disk and discolor and maybe destroy them.

Update: Turns out it was my cable. Don't know why but this drive doesn't like this one cable I was using. The cable worked on my other drives so I didn't think anything of it, swapped the cable later on though and now seems fine. Moved a couple 4 gig files to it no problem.

I got this while copying a file from my server and pasting it to a laptop. network is 802.11b. Anyone have a clue about this one? At first I tried pasting it to a USB memory key, but got the same message when pasting it to the laptop hard drive. Other files transfer fine.
