I can't say this (http://www.groovypost.com/howto/manage-windows-10-data-usage/) is a comprehensive list but it should at least let you know that there are knobs available. It is clear that ms expects an always on connection but tries to make allowances. In the end, I can't imagine all of you...

You are being too paranoid. However, you have that right. The select models of skylake that will supported for the next 18 months would be coming of lease about the right time for you to buy one of them used. You would no longer have official support but that would be the newest hardware most...

You can still get a pre-skylake system and be completely supported on 7 or 8.1 until 2020 or 2023 respectively. That's a long time. Use the time to learn linux if you wish. Buy the maximum supported hardware and keep a spare on the shelf.

Have you considered google docs? It it's very easy to use, no infrastructure to set up, and easy to share to the internet.

question I need a CMS for company internal documents and procedures: Recommendations?

We use SharePoint as a repository for a searchable collection of word and excel documents. It doesn't work any better for us than when we had the docs stuffed into file folders. I don't really see the point. Edit: Correction, it does handle multiple users opening the file at the same time...

I would only expect the steering wheel controls to interact with the head unit. So we need the head unit to interface with and control the phone. I fully expect android auto and car play to become everything I want, it just isn't there yet.

    NSK2400 build notes

Network attached means more devices can access the destination at any time more easily. I have multiple devices so that it's important to me. That said, the linux destination is a very cheap, low power Dell FX170 and an external single drive.

I currently backup my laptops through Crashplan to an off-site location as well as the NAS. And the NAS also backs up to an offsite location (excluding the backups). One backup destination is linux and one is windows so there is a lot of flexibility there.

Having to plug it in is a surprising downer; also outputting less than 2A for charging. The few reviews I stumbled into said the AppRadio 4 was a big improvement in speed. Pioneer's AppRadio and AVIC models look interesting for car audio. You install an app on your phone to link to the head unit. Mirrorlink is there for unsupported devices. There is also a hacked app to get access to non-approved phone apps.

The internet had no general diagnosis for this symptom but it seemed to be a boot problem very early in the process as it would only make it through BIOS. Internet Options

If you are concerned about uptime and redundancy then multi-wan is what you need. If the maximum bandwidth single connection you can get is less than you need then multi-wan could also be a solution. In various places I have multi-wan set up with dsl, cable, 4G, and ethernet.

    Internet Options

Setting up dual wan would not be a good way to "try" a different internet service because at any point in time it would be difficult to guarantee which service you are using without manual intervention. The routers have as basic modes, failover, or more round-robin type bandwidth splitting. You...

It will be interesting to see how accurate the representation of those 10 bits is. With Rec. 2020 we are shooting for 8k, progressive only, 120hz, 12 bit depth, and a new HDMI spec beyond 2.0 to handle the bandwidth. With such a rapid pace of change it would be helpful to have well understood...

I don't have Ubiquity experience personally, so I don't know how good they are at adjusting channels automatically. I would think it would at least tell you what channel it chose. You should use a tool to learn the channels in use and signal strength around you and set yours accordingly. You...

    Home Solar

10 years ago I had priced out a system at about that cost for parts. But the electric rates here are so cheap that the ROI for just the installation with no usage subtracted was so far into the future that it made more sense to wait for better technology.
